There are various factors that contribute to the way we think, feel, and behave. Taken together they can produce symptoms of sadness, depression, anxiety, fear, stress, helplessness, hopelessness, anger, or frustration. Counselling can provide the support that you need.
I believe that healing comes through relationships. Working together we will craft a therapy that is informed by both my awareness and experience of ideas and practices from a wide range of different therapeutic approaches and your life experiences, abilities and personal resources. This framework creates an atmosphere of discovery and a positive approach to therapy that will help to reduce symptoms, open up choices and provide new possibilities for you.
There is no charge for the initial session, I believe it is important that you feel we are a good fit before we begin therapy. In that initial meeting I will share with you how I work and what to expect in counselling, we will discuss a general idea of what you are experiencing and how we will work together. If that feels right for you we will then contract for 6 sessions. After the 6 sessions we will do a review and plan together for the next 6 sessions or begin to work toward an ending.
Mindfulness is based on scientific principles that teach you how to move from doing mode into being mode. This allows you to be fully engaged with the present and not become caught in thoughts of the past or the future. In being mode your brain and body can rest and repair. Mindfulness is a wonderful way to learn how to relax. It can also help with many physical and emotional disorders. There is published scientific evidence that mindfulness can assist with:

Mindfulness is offered in 1-1 sessions or 8 week courses.
I emigrated from the United States with my family in 2009. I earned my Diploma of Higher Education in Theology and Counselling from The London School of Theology and my Post Qualification Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Skills from the Grove, in London. I received a Post Graduate Certificate of Completion in Somatic Trauma Therapy from Trauma expert Babette Rothschild. I am accredited by Mindfulness Now to teach the 8 week Mindfulness course. I am a registered member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Before Counselling I had a twenty-year career in Business, worked in Ministry, and as a Life Coach.
